Is being a Force Protection Officer like being in the Army again?
Force Protection Officers operate under a paramilitary structure. They have a chain of command such as sergeants, senior sergeants, shift lieutenants, and captains in charge of them.
How do employees get promoted?
First there must be a vacancy. Then employees must have completed their 90-day probationary period, passed their 90-day FPO certification exam, have their security clearance (for some jobs), and get their supervisor's approval. Once they meet the above criteria, they can apply for open positions such as desk clerk, desk sgt, K9, law enforcement, residential security monitors, shift sergeant, etc.
