Dining

Dining out is a major form of entertainment in Kuwait, and the city has excellent restaurants. Choose from familiar American fast-food and chain restaurants, such as Applebee’s, Ruby Tuesday, Pizza Hut, Popeye’s, McDonald’s, Hardees and much more. The city also has a wide variety of international cuisines: Chinese, Indian, Italian, Japanese and sushi.

Or opt for local Arabic flavors. Frequently serving Lebanese cuisine, these restaurants feature course after mouth-watering course of appetizers, including traditional pickles, warm breads accompanied by numerous freshly made dips, and grilled meats served on skewers. Finish your meal with Arabic or Turkish coffee and know that you have eaten well! Locals dine later in the evening, and restaurants are busiest from 9 to 10 p.m. Because alcohol is restricted, restaurants and coffee shops stand in for bars and nightclubs as the place to socialize. A Starbuck’s, Seattle’s Best or Second Cup is always close by.

Dining “in” is also popular in Kuwait and you aren’t restricted to the usual pizza and Chinese. Whether fast food or fine dining, many restaurants deliver – even KFC and the local sushi bar!
